About the Journal
The Journal of Women's Sports Medicine (ISSN 2769-4895) is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary journal featuring cross-disciplinary research that furthers the understanding of sports injuries/conditions, treatments and outcomes that are specific to female athletes.
All articles must undergo a double-blinded peer review process guided by a multidisciplinary editorial board.
Articles are published open access without publication fees, to encourage patient-centered research that supports female athletes and the advancement of women's sports.
The journal encourages submission of original scientific articles, review papers, and case reports, that have taken a cross-disciplinary approach to address the topic of issues in female athletes, not limited to the following disciplines:
- Sports medicine
- Orthopaedic surgery
- Pregnancy and obstetrics
- Hormones and endocrinology
- Nutrition and disordered eating
- Sports psychology
- Sports rehabilitation
- Injury prevention, education, and access to care
